Ice Causes Problems For Firefighters Battling Blaze At Newark House

Everyone in a Franklin Township home got out safely after the building ignited on Monday morning.

According to The Newark Advocate, a home in the 6300 block of Pleasant Chapel Road SE in Newark caught fire shortly before 7 a.m.

The fire was contained shortly after 8 a.m.

The Advocate reported that an icy driveway hindered the firefighters’ efforts to battle the fire. Fire crews were forced to run hoses up to the home.
