Apartment Fire Displaces 8 Families

A fire forced eight families out of their apartment building in northeast Columbus late Saturday night.

The fire started around 11:30 p.m. on Calimero Drive.

Crews think the fire started in a kitchen.

Three units suffered major damage.

Two more units have minor damage.

No one was injured.

Crews evacuated the entire building because the electricity was turned off.

The Red Cross was on the scene helping the families that needed a place to stay.
