Marion police are searching for answers after a drive-thru business was robbed multiple times.
Woody’s Place, located on Delaware Avenue in Marion, was struck by a robber on Friday night.
Owner John Cook said that the robbery took place just about one month after his business was first struck by a robber.
“We have a great base of customers,” Cook said. “It is a pleasure to wait on them every day. They are just nice people.”
Cook said that he never had a complaint in the nearly seven years he has owned the business.
“Never a problem, and now, just in the last month, twice,” Cook said.
Police said that an unidentified man with a gun robbed the business around Christmas.
Cook said that the same employee who was working the night of the first robbery was on hand during Friday’s robbery.
The owner said that the man parked about a block away so that surveillance cameras would not pick up his license plate. His employee had just walked inside of the store room, when the robber walked right in.
According to a 911 call placed by the employee after the robbery, the employee was forced out of the stock room and to open the cash register.
Cook said that the man took all the money in the cash register and ran off.
“I’m happy that no one was hurt, our employees were safe,” Cook said. “We don’t want it to happen again, and I’m sure that we will take some more precautions, so we’ll still be here.”
Police are investigating the robberies but said that based on descriptions given, two separate men robbed the business.
