Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight. With fresh snow on the ground, temperatures will be quite cold. Lows will drop into the mid teens by morning. Sunday will start with some sunshine with increasing clouds during the afternoon. Temperatures should climb to near or just above freezing by late afternoon. If we reach freezing, it will be the first time since last Sunday.
A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will develop Sunday night with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. There could be some light icing, mainly north of Interstate 70, with a greater threat for icing north of US Highway 30. Any ice or sleet will quickly change to all rain as temperatures rise late Sunday night through Monday morning.
On and off rain showers will be likely statewide Monday through Wednesday as we get a break from the frigid temperatures. Highs will rebound into the 40s and 50s through midweek before falling back below freezing by Wednesday night.
