Jury Chosen In Case Of Man Accused Of ‘Masterminding” Daughter-In-Law’s Death

UPDATED: Friday January 25, 2013 4:38 PM

A jury has been chosen in the case of a man accused of kidnapping and strangling his daughter-in-law before hiding her body in a Hocking County septic tank.

Two men and 10 women will decide the fate of 48-year-old William Inman Sr., who is accused of kidnapping and killing his daughter-in-law and hiding her body in a Hocking County septic tank.

Inman's wife and son were  convicted and sentenced to prison terms in the March 2011 slaying of Summer Inman in Logan, about 45 miles southeast of Columbus.

Inman is accused of strangling the 25-year-old with a zip tie before hiding her body. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

Opening statements in the high-profile murder trial set in Ross County will start Monday after Inman’s first trial ended abruptly when prosecutors couldn’t find a fair jury.

The trial was moved from Hocking County to Ross County in the hopes of finding an impartial jury.

More than 300 potential jurors lined up at the Ross County fairgrounds earlier this month to fill out questionnaires.  It was the first step in the process of finding 12 people and several alternates for a jury.

Authorities allege Summer Inman was killed because she had filed for divorce and was seeking custody of the three children she had with William Inman II after six years of marriage.
