Your Doppler 10 Forecast
This Evening: Clouds with a few flurries.
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy. Watch the roads! Low 15.
Tomorrow: Turning partly sunny…still cool. High 25.
Sunday Increasing clouds with a wintry mix of freezing rain sleet after sunset. High 30.
Special Information:
Three things I’m watching for you tonight. The first is refreezing of the roads after the evening rush. Be very careful as what may appear to be a wet road is likely going to be an icy road.
Second… be ready for a very cold night tomorrow night. Skies will clear during the day Saturday and with 2-4 inches of fresh snow on the ground…the temperature will drop fast. In fact, I’m forecasting a low in Columbus of 8 degrees Saturday night. If skies clear enough… we could be even colder in rural areas.
Finally...I’m already tracking the next storm system. The latest computer models show a wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet moving into Central Ohio after sunset Sunday. I am concerned this may last several hours Sunday night into Monday morning with the potential for 1/10th to 2/10th of an inch of ice. That could be enough to glaze roads, but will not cause damage to trees or power lines.
Alerts : WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Eastern Ohio…but should be lifted shortly.
Inconvenient Weather: Watch for refreezing tonight as temperatures drop into the teens. Next storm system brings a brief wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet Sunday night.
Planning your Day: Weekend will be dry and cold. In fact..lows tomorrow night could drop into the single digits.
