1-Year-Old Killed In Pickaway County Crash

UPDATED: Friday January 25, 2013 6:56 AM

Authorities said that a 1-year-old was killed in a crash in Pickaway County around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

State Route 104 was closed in both directions at Sisk Road due to the rollover crash, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office.

Thirty-seven-year-old driver Deanna M. King, 12-year-old passenger Leah N. King and 18-year-old Ashleigh R. King were hospitalized in Pickaway County. The three were being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A'laija M. King, 1, the 18-year-old's daughter, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's officials said that the crash occurred in an accident-prone area. Officials said that the driver told them the roads were slick. An Ohio Department of Transportation vehicle had been through the area a few minutes earlier.

Officials said that speed likely was a factor in the crash, but the cause remained under investigation.

It was unknown if the 1-year-old was properly restrained.
