Police To Be On Hand At Funeral For 15-Year-Old Who Was Shot, Killed

A funeral is planned for Friday for a Linden-McKinley High School student who was shot and killed last week.

10TV News confirmed that Columbus police plan to be on hand for the funeral.

Kaewuan Coleman, 17, was shot and killed on Jan. 17 in an alley behind a McDonald’s restaurant on Cleveland Avenue after a fight among students from Linden-McKinley High School.

Police confirmed that they believe the fatal shooting could be gang-related.

Police released the names of 15-year-old Jesean Callender and 17-year-old Shyquan Washington, who are both charged in Coleman’s death.

A juvenile court record obtained by 10TV showed police allege Washington provided the gun to Callender who police claim then shot the teen.

Police said that both Callender and Washington have lengthy juvenile records that that the victim was known to have been involved in gang activity.
