Witnesses at Veterans Memorial said a man became rowdy and got into an altercation with a police officer on Thursday morning.
According to witnesses at the scene, an officer stepped in to try to calm the man down.
Police said that the man punched the officer in the face.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer.
