Man Holds Onto Car Hood For A Mile During Theft Attempt

A man trying to stop a vehicle from being stolen held onto the hood of the car for more than a mile early Thursday morning around 3 a.m.

Police said they spotted the man on top of the hood and started following the car.

The alleged thief stopped the car when the person on the hood fell off around Delbert Road, just off Joyce Avenue.

Authorities followed footprints in the snow to catch the suspect who ran from the vehicle.

Police said the attempted theft occurred around Weber and Westerville Roads.

The man riding on the hood was not injured. Authorities did not confirm that the man was the owner of the vehicle.
