Man Accused Of Running Rental Scam At Home He Didn't Own

UPDATED: Tuesday January 22, 2013 10:14 AM

Minerva Park police arrested and charged a man accused of running a rental property scam.

Police arrested Ronald L. Jester on Saturday and charged him with felony theft, forgery and identity fraud.

Jester is accused of scamming at least six people in a rental scam. He would allegedly pose as a landlord of a Minerva Park home.

Officers said Jester, who uses the alias Ron Hoover, would find his victims through word of mouth and then meet them at different locations, like the Walmart on Morse Road.

Police said Jester would then collect deposits from the victims, telling them he only accepted cash. Investigators said Jester did not own the home, which actually is on the market to be sold.

Lt. Waldenmyer expected more charges would be filed against Jester.
