The City of Delaware will receive $10,000 to study the benefits of expanding a Delaware County road.

The Sawmill Parkway study is expected to quantify the economic benefits of completing the roadway within the city limits.

Delaware leaders said that expanding the road would grow the county’s industrial base.

Leaders said that more than 1,600 acres near the existing industrial park can be made available for development.

The study also will measure potential transportation improvements.

AEP Ohio and Consolidated Electric are providing the funding for the study, which is expected to start later this month and be completed by March.
