Hotspots Still Seen Burning At Pataskala Business Morning After Fire Sparked

UPDATED: Tuesday January 15, 2013 6:14 AM

More than 40 firefighters worked to extinguish a large fire at a Pataskala building late Monday night.

Hotspots were still seen burning at the business on Tuesday morning – more than nine hours after it started at Eagle Heating and Cooling, located in the 900 block of Hazelton-Etna Road.

Firefighters said that the fire spread quickly and likely started at the rear of the building. From the beginning, workers and firefighters said that there was a constant series of explosions.

Fire officials said that they found it impossible to contain the fire that started at about 7:30 p.m.

Crews from five fire departments went into a defensive mode and got to a point where they had to let the building burn.

One firefighter dislocated his hip while fighting the fire and was hospitalized.

The office manager of the business said that owners lost everything and had no idea where to start to rebuild.

Crews did not immediately know what caused the fire but said that they did not expect foul play.
