A number of roads were closed in Marion County on Monday as waters reached flood stage.
Melting snow and weekend rains contributed to the closures of LaRue Green Camp Road, between state Route 37 and Guthery Road, and Holland Road, between state Route 309 and Marion Williamsport Road, on Monday.
County road crews also warned drivers on nearly 18 country roads of high water. Drivers could spot “High Water” signs along roads such as DeCliff Road, between state Route 95 and Agosta LaRue Road, and Waldo western Road, between Almendinger and Gillette roads.
The Scioto River near Prospect exceeded the flood stage of 9 feet late Sunday night and was expected to reach 10.4 feet on Monday afternoon.
People living in the area told 10TV that they are used to dealing with high water from the Scioto River.
Road crews advised drivers not to try to drive through high waters.
10TV crews also saw flooded fields across the county as well.
High water is expected to remain for at least the next 24 hours.
