An early morning chase through a southwest Columbus neighborhood ended in a crash.
Franklin County Sheriff's deputies said that they attempted to stop a driver who was behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle along Georgesville Road at about 3 a.m.
Deputies said that driver sped off, leading to a chase through the neighborhood in southwest Columbus.
The driver crashed on Fox Ridge Street, just blocks from where the chase started. The driver plowed into two telephone boxes and a YMCA fence before escaping into a nearby wooded area.
Deputies requested assistance from Columbus police in the search for the suspect. K9 officers were also brought to the area.
The suspect was not apprehended and the search continued through the early morning.
