A man is facing charges for assaulting a clerk and taking money from a gas station.
Mark Holley Thomas, 26, is charged with robbery in the case.
Police said that Thomas got into an argument with a clerk at the Mobile Mart in the 2000 block of Cleveland Ave. Thursday morning around 1 a.m.
Court records indicate that Thomas physically assaulted one of the clerks and then allegedly stole items from behind the counter.
He threatened the clerk again when the doors were locked as he tried to escape. The doors were open and he fled the scene, according to police.
Thomas was arrested several hours later.
