Armed Man Surrenders After Police Use Tear Gas To End 4-Hour Standoff

A man surrendered to police after a domestic disputed turned into a S.W.A.T. situation.

Police were called to the 300 block of South Highland Avenue in the Hilltop area after receiving a call that one of the people inside the home was firing at the others.

Police told 10TV there were three adults and two children inside shortly before 2 a.m.

Around 4:30 a.m. police fired tear gas into the home, and the man surrendered to authorities a short time later.

Authorities were removing guns from the home following the standoff.

There were no reports of injuries.
