Detectives Ask For Information About Business Shooting, Vandalism

UPDATED: Wednesday January 9, 2013 8:33 PM

Detectives are trying to figure out who broke into and fired shots inside of a Delaware County business.

According to detectives with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, at least 18 rounds were fired inside of a medical building office on Friday morning.

An employee arrived at the Advocate Radiology Billing, located in the 10500 block of Sawmill Parkway, to find shattered glass and damaged computers.

Investigators said that they believed the office was targeted.

“It’s definitely a non-descript building, so the average person driving by isn’t going to realize that it is there and nothing was taken, so it seems very personal,” said Det. Kevin Ullom with the sheriff’s office.

Detectives said that whoever is responsible for the crime caused more than $50,000 in damage.

Ullom said that he believes someone knows something about the crime, because of the personal nature of the incident.

“Somebody didn’t do this without some aggression, so either they’ve shared that with someone, or someone has been made aware of that, seen or heard that,” Ullom said.

Detectives said that they were interviewing people in connection with the crime but were asking for the public to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 740-833-2800
