For the first time, people who file for the Homestead Tax Exemption can do it online.

The tax exemption is available for senior citizen and disabled homeowners.

They can receive a flat $25,000 property tax exemption on the market value of their home.

For example, a home valued at $100,000 would be valued at $75,000 with the Homestead Tax Exemption.

The average savings for those who qualify is $555.
