A man charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl was jailed on $100,000 bond on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Dathan Dalton James helped parents of a 14-year-old runaway search for her.
James, 23, was then allowed to stay in the family’s home in exchange for his search efforts, court documents stated.
After the girl returned home, James is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with her, aware of her actual age.
Court documents stated that the mother confronted James, who admitted to having sex with the girl.
