Suspect Arrested In First Columbus Homicide Of The Year

Police have identified and arrested a man wanted in connection with the city's first homicide of 2013.

Authorities said Dennis Oteng was wanted for the shooting death of Kingsley Owusu. Oteng was taken into custody just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Owusu, 20, was shot and killed early Saturday. He was found in the parking lot Filipinas Center on Westerville Road with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Owusu died from his injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Oteng was named as a suspect in the case.

The incident apparently started as a fight at a birthday party inside the club.

Anyone with information in regards to this crime is asked to call the Homicide Squad at 645-4730.
