Girl Reported Kidnapped Says She Was Never Missing, In Danger

An 18-year-old girl reported kidnapped early Thursday told 10TV News Thursday that she never was in danger.

According to the girl, she was at a relative’s house and never was missing or kidnapped.

Police issued a report Thursday morning stating that an 18-year-old girl was kidnapped from a home in the 1500 block of Walsh Ave. at about 3 a.m. by a 15-year-old boy.

According to detectives, the girl's friend filed the report about the alleged kidnapping.

Police said that they were considering the case "inactive" because of a lack of evidence.

The girl’s mother said that she was in contact with police to clear up the issue.

The unnamed 15-year-old boy still was due to appear in court on Thursday because of an assault charge.
