Cold Temperatures Remain First Week Of New Year

UPDATED: Thursday January 3, 2013 5:15 AM

This Evening:    Clear to partly cloudy.
Tonight:    Clearing and very cold.  Low 12.
Tomorrow:    Partly to mostly cloudy with a few flurries late.  High 31.
Friday:    Cloudy and continued cold.  High 27.

Special Information:

Clearing skies and fresh snow cover are just the ingredients for a very cold night tonight.  Lows will drop to the single digits and teens around Central Ohio.  A few flurries or snow showers will be possible tomorrow night with a moisture starved cold front.  But this next front keeps us in the deep freeze for the rest of the week with highs Friday in the 20s and lows in the middle teens.  If you are looking to thaw out... next week appears warmer with highs possibly reaching the 40s a week from today.

Alerts :  None

Inconvenient Weather:  Very cold overnight with lows dropping into the single digits in spots.  Bundle up!

Planning your Day:  Few flurries tomorrow night…but no significant storm systems in the 7 day forecast.   Cold is the big story for the rest of the week with a gradual thaw by this time next week.
