The Ohio State Highway Patrol said on Wednesday that six people were killed on state roadways during the New Year’s Holiday.

According to the OSP, the number of people killed between midnight Dec. 31 through 11:59 p.m. Jan. 1 was less than the number of the people killed during the holiday period last year.

Fourteen people were killed during the holiday reporting period last year, which was four days rather than the two-day reporting period this year.

Officials asked that drivers continue to use #677 to report dangerous or impaired drivers and drug activity.
