Sheriff Identifies Woman Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash Along I-270 On West Side

Sheriff’s officials continued to investigate a fatal, single-vehicle crash that occurred on New Year’s Day.

Sheriff’s officials said that 58-year-old Mary Swank died after she lost control of her Chevrolet SUV and struck a guard rail along Interstate 270 north, south of U.S. Route 40, on the west side at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Swank was the only person in the vehicle.

Officials said that they did not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
