2 Homes Destroyed, 2 Others Damaged In SE Columbus Fire

An early Sunday morning fire destroyed two homes and left two more with damage in southeast Columbus.

Officials said the fire started around 4:20 a.m. Sunday at 2736 Barrows Road, near Refugee and Brice Roads.

Firefighters said two homes were fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene.
 
Those two homes were destroyed and two others were damaged in the fire. Multiple fire crews were called to the scene.

All of the homes were occupied at the time, but all eight residents escaped and no injuries were reported.
 
Fire officials have put damage estimates at more than half a million dollars.
 
The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
