Police said that they are no longer considering the cause of a man’s death to be traffic related.

Darryl Dandrige was found dead in the middle of a north Columbus street on Dec. 21.

Police were dispatched to Arrowood Loop North at about 6:55 a.m. Dec. 21, and found Dandridge, 54, dead in the middle of the street.

According to police, detectives originally investigated the man’s death as traffic-related.

Police said that evidence at the scene indicated that Dandridge was struck and left for dead.

Police said on Monday that after a more thorough examination from the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, the man’s death was no longer being considered traffic-related.

Officials said that the man may have suffered from a yet unspecified medical condition. Injuries at the scene likely were the result of a full to the pavement after losing consciousness, police said.
