The Marysville School board cut more than $2 million from the district's budget.
The strike to the budget means 50 positions were eliminated, including five music teachers.
Supporters of the district's award-winning show choir said that the instructors are critical to the success of the program.
"They make the entire thing so much fun and so worthwhile," student Trent Hogel said. "It means a lot to me to be able to go to choir everyday and know that there's someone there that actually wants me to learn and grow as a person."
The budget cuts are the result of voters turning down a levy in the November election, officials said.
