Woman Arrested In Connection With Striking, Killing 78-Year-Old Man

A woman is accused of striking a man and fleeing the scene.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Jessica Lowther is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and felony hit-skip.

David Dayton, 78, was struck along Harrisburg Pike, north of Eakin Road, on at about 11 p.m. Dec. 5.

Lowther, 23, voluntarily turned herself in on Dec. 20.

Sheriff’s officials said that at the time of the crash, Lowther was driving with a suspended driver’s license and a warrant for her arrest.

Lowther currently is being held at the Franklin County jail on the vehicular homicide and felony hit-skip charges, as well as charges for driving without a valid driver’s license, driving with a suspended driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
