Your Doppler 10 Forecast
This Evening: Snow showers and breezy.
Tonight: Snow showers until midnight. Low 24.
Tomorrow: Morning flurries..then clearing skies. High 35.
Sunday Partly sunny. High 39.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY continues until midnight tonight as light snow showers move across Central Ohio. Any additional accumulation will be an inch or less. The real problem will be the temperatures that drop into the 20s. Once the sun sets.. I expect untreated roadways to become snow covered and slick.
Two new storm system will impact Ohio next week. The first is rather weak with a combination of rain and snow on Christmas Eve. A much stronger winter storm will move into the Ohio Valley on Wednesday with the potential for heavy snow.
Both the GFS and ECMWF show a low pressure system moving from Oklahoma to Central Kentucky. This is an ideal track for snow here in the Columbus area. Both long range models have been very consistent with this storm. Based on what I’m seeing now… 6 or more inches of snow may be possible across the Central and Southern Ohio Wednesday and Thursday.
Alerts : WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY until 10PM.
Inconvenient Weather: Watch the roads tonight as they may freeze once the sun goes down. Also.. the snow may stick on untreated roads after sunset.
Planning your Day: Plan on a cold night if you are going out. Weekend should be dry, but chilly with highs in the 30s.
