Threat Prompts Guard Duty At Columbus Downtown H.S. For Third Day

Police said that they have set up precautionary guard duty at a Columbus high school Thursday because of a threat.

Authorities responded to Columbus Downtown High School, located at South Fourth Street, after the threat was received.

Columbus City Schools officials said that the threat was made against the brother of a student. The brother of the student is not enrolled at the school.

School officials are required to pass the information onto police, who made the call to step up patrols.

Police said that this was the third day of guard duty at the school because of the threat.

Investigators said that they believed they have identified the person behind the threat. The person's identity was not immediately released.

Charges were not immediately filed against the person.

There were no reports of injuries. Police continued to investigate the threat.
