A handful of students at Westfall High School in Pickaway County have reported a possible threat posted on Facebook that has prompted an investigation.
The district superintendent would not comment on the nature of the alleged threat but told 10TV News that the district was working closely with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
An automated message was also sent out to parents about the investigation.
The superintendent told 10TV News that school officials are following procedures that are in place for this kind of incident, and she wants to make sure the students feel safe.
“We want the kids to know that the door is open and we take these things seriously,” said Superintendent Cara Riddel. “We are appreciative that parents and children have come forward to talk to us, even about threats that are happening in other parts of our community, because at this point, nothing has come to the school.”
