The Ohio Inspector General released a report on Tuesday that alleged wrongful acts committed by employees of the Ohio Department of Transportation.

According to the Office of the Inspector General, ODOT employees conspired to rig the bidding process for the sale and purchase of traffic equipment.

The Inspector General said in a release that the suppliers involved in the case conspired to illegally control the bidding process to their benefit and to the detriment of Ohio taxpayers.

“The investigation also revealed that several employees of the Ohio Department of Transportation were fully aware of what was happening and passively stood by,” according to the Inspector General in a release. “The good news today is that a number of the suppliers have been brought to justice and are standing before a judge in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.”
