UPDATED: Wednesday December 19, 2012 5:15 AM

Your Doppler 10 Forecast
This Evening:    Clearing and pleasant.
Tonight:    Clear skies.  Low 33.
Tomorrow:    Partly sunny and warmer.  High 51.
Thursday:    Strong storm system brings wind and rain during the day..turning to snow towards evening.  High 55.  Wind gusts over 50 mph possible.

Special Information:
A powerful winter storm will develop in the Midwest tomorrow and move into the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley on Thursday.  The storm will bring gusty winds, thunderstorms and even accumulating snows to Ohio Thursday and Friday.
The hour by hour forecast shows showers moving into Central Ohio after 8AM Thursday morning.   The winds will  become gusty as the front approaches the Columbus area around 2PM.  In fact wind gusts of 45-55 mph will be possible as this storm system crosses our area late Thursday and Thursday night.
Temperatures will drop 20-30 degrees in matter of hours Thursday evening and as the front moves east a wave of snow will move into the area after dark.  I think snowfall amounts will be rather light in the Columbus area with an inch or so possible by Friday morning.  Lake effect snows will add up to much more closer to Lake Erie with 6-12 inches possible east of Cleveland.

Alerts :  None

Inconvenient Weather:  Strong storm system brings wind and rain on Thursday and very windy weather with snow Thursday night and Friday.

Planning your Day:  Gusty wind with a quick inch possible by Friday morning.  Higher amounts closer to Lake Erie and Lake Michigan where LAKE EFFECT WARNINGS may be issued.
