Officers were dispatched to an east side address at 10:34 a.m. on Sunday to investigate a report of a dead body.
They found an unidentified man at 1282 Cole Street. Columbus Division of Fire personnel pronounced the man dead at 10:41 a.m.
Homicide detectives, crime scene investigators and the Franklin County Coroner's Office were dispatched to scene.
A news release from police indicated the man appeared to have been shot to death. The statement said the house appeared to have been used by drug abusers and homeless individuals.
This was the city's 88th homicide of 2012
