An administrative assistant at the Pickaway County School District has been suspended for three days after giving a student the wrong medication and failing to report it.

The incident occurred at Circleville's Court Street Intermediate School on Nov. 27.

The superintendent said that the employee, whose identity was not released, realized the mistake before the student could swallow the pill.

The incident prompted the district to retrain all employees who administer medication.
