A Reynoldsburg elementary school principal is on paid leave after failing to report immediately an alleged sexual assault involving two students.

A letter sent to parents said that Rose Hill Elementary principal Chad Lape did not follow administrative protocol.

District leaders learned about the incident, which occurred between two third-graders in a school bathroom, from concerned staff.

The student accused of wrongdoing has been removed from the school.
