Students and staff at Dominion Middle School will see an increased police presence Thursday morning.
The response comes after police said that a middle school student allegedly made threats. Police would not elaborate on the nature of the threats.
Additional officers were sent to the area, located along East Dominion Boulevard, around 6:30 a.m. as a precaution.
Authorities said that a note written by a student was found that implied a threat against another student.
Investigators said that school officials alerted police to the note and police who took it upon themselves to increase patrols.
The student accused of writing the note was not in school on Thursday.
The identity of the student was not revealed. Authorities stressed that this was a precautionary measure.
