Hocking County taxpayers have paid $154, 065 to prosecute a family charged with the abduction and murder of a young mother.
According to the Hocking County Auditor, Ken Wilson, the final cost could reach about $200,000. He said that county commissioners have been drawing from contingency funds to pay for the expenses, which mostly include
defense-attorney fees.
William Inman Sr., the father-in-law of the slain Summer Inman, is slated to begin his trial in Ross County in January. His trial was moved from Hocking County because a judge said that he could not receive a fair trial in
Hocking County.
Inman's son, William Inman II., has already been convicted in Summer Inman's murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
William Inman Sr.'s wife, Sandra Inman, took a plea deal and will spend 15 years to life in prison.
