The Columbus Bomb Squad responded to a report of a suspicious object on Summit Street Wednesday afternoon.

They were called out to investigate a metal drum found on the sidewalk along Summit Street between 4th and 5th avenues about 2:30 p.m.

Residents in the 1100 block of Summit Street were evacuated.

Emergency crews told 10TV that the scene was cleared about 3:45 p.m.

While the drum was labeled to have aluminum powder, it was empty.

They said there was no danger to the public, and there were no reports of injuries.
