There is a push in Delaware County to keep drunk drivers off the roads this holiday season.

Powell police will join local safety activists to promote sober driving on Tuesday. Officers said this program is not intended to increase ticket writing or arrests, but to prevent impaired driving in the county.

Amy Bean will join the effort. Bean’s husband was killed after he got behind the wheel after drinking.

Together, the group planned to visit 20 businesses in the city that serve alcohol. They will pass out information about the state’s drinking laws and encourage responsible serving.

Officers said that this program is not intended to increase ticket writing or arrests, but to prevent impaired driving in the county.
