A Union County woman was sentenced to nine years for her role in a 2008 overdose.

Mary Miller pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and perjury jury. She admitted to giving a man a potent prescription fentanyl patch.

Prosecutors said that Scott Woods chewed the patch instead of applying it to his skin. He died a short time later.
