A former Hebron officer who fathered three children with an underage girl will spend the next four and a half years in prison.
George Gibson was convicted of four counts of sexual battery on Tuesday.
In a plea deal, Gibson entered Alford pleas, admitting to sexual activity with the girl after she turned 16.
Prosecutors said the sexual relationship started when the girl was just 8 years old.
Gibson allegedly knew the girl because dated her mother.
The two have a 10-year-old, a 7-year-old and a 19-month-old together.
Health police said that they were contacted in May 2011 after a child support enforcement proceeding, when both Gibson and the alleged victim filed for sole custody of the children.
The plea deal saves the victim from having to testify.
Gibson will also spend five years on community control after his release from prison.
