The suspect in the death of a 10-month-old boy waived his right to challenge extradition to Ohio on Friday.
Wayne Walker, 44, was arrested in Sacramento on Dec. 1.
Pickaway County authorities had been looking for Walker following the death of Kyle Calton, his girlfriend's son. An autopsy had determined the child had died from Shaken Baby Syndrome.
U.S. Marshals tracked Walker to California, where he had previously lived. Authorities said he violated his parole by leaving California in August.
The California Department of Corrections said Walker had been convicted of corporal injury of a spouse.
By waving his right to challenge extradition, Walker cleared the way to be returned to Pickaway County within 10 days to face a murder charge.
