A Grinch has apparently struck in West Columbus.

For the past 11 years, the Parra family has decorated a special and sentimental Christmas tree in their front yard for everyone to see.

But that annual tradition was stolen away from them early Friday morning.

The Parra family has proudly displayed their decoration since they moved from Mexico 11 years ago.

Now their most precious item - a small, artificial tree - is now gone.

All that’s left is a tipped over bucket that once held their treasured Tannebaum.

Teresa Parra said that she was surprised when she got up Friday morning to turn off her Christmas lights and realized her precious tree was stolen right out of the front yard.

The thieves did leave the lights and even a small Santa Claus, but she said those can't replace what they've lost.

Teresa said they have put their tree out in the front yard for years but never had any problems until now.

She still hopes their tree is returned to them because it has such sentimental value, and that the guilty conscious of these Grinches gets the best of them.
