Decision Coming Soon About Delaware City Schools Overcrowding

UPDATED: Wednesday December 5, 2012 8:00 AM

Delaware City Schools officials may be close to making a decision how to handle overcrowding.

The decision could be left up to the taxpayers.

Delaware City Schools superintendent Paul Craft is asking board members to consider a 10-year bond issue. He said that the district would ask for a little less than two additional mills.

Craft suggested the issue be added to the May 2013 ballot, ThisWeek Community Newspapers reported.

The plan involves several building additions and renovations to current buildings.

The school board would need to make a decision by the end of the month to make the deadline for the May ballot.
