The Summit Station Post Office will soon be cutting its hours of operation.

The U.S. Postal Service said it is working with the community to see what works best for residents.

It surveyed Summit Station's 138 postal customers, and the majority of those who responded said they favored reducing hours over closing the office completely.

The USPS said changes are necessary due to reduced demand.

It is still working on a plan, and there is no timetable for a decision.
