Police are investigating after a 7-year-old boy told his mother that a man attempted to lure him into his vehicle while the boy was walking home on Saturday.
According to police, the alleged incident occurred at about 6 p.m. Saturday near Parsons Avenue and Columbus Street, near the Parsons branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
Police said that the child ran home and told his mother about the alleged incident.
Parent Vincent Meek said that he was glad nothing worse happened to the boy.
“I’m very surprised, because I wouldn’t let my kid go anywhere out of my sight by themselves,” Meek said. “I’m glad he’s alright, though, and that he didn’t get into that car, that he ran instead of getting into that car.”
Officers said that the boy was not able to get a good description of the man, other than that he was a male in his 30s.
