One person is dead and another person had to be rescued from a vehicle after single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, one person, identified as 56-year-old Lutrell Yutzy, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred near Amity Pike and County Highway 39 shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Investigators said that Yutzy was traveling west on Amity Pike when he lost control of his vehicle. Yutzy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Amity Pike was closed for investigation for a number of hours.
