3 Get Probation In Gun Permit Scheme

Thursday November 29, 2012 8:11 PM

Three men will serve probation for running a gun permit scheme.

Adam Chaykin, John Marshall and Ken Fouch pleaded guilty to falsification charges.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office arrested them in August.

Investigators said Marshall, a certified firearm instructor, was selling his signed training certificates to Chaykin and Fouch. Chaykin and Fouch conducted illegal training classes that did not meet the required training-in some cases, no training occurred at all.

Sheriff's officials believed that about 600 people may have obtained invalid permits. The majority of the permits were issued in Franklin County, but the permits were also issued in other counties throughout Ohio.

The judge sentenced them on Thursday to three years of community control and ordered them to pay fines.
